On May 12th 2017, the King Baudouin Foundation organizes the event “Boost  Philanthropy in Europe”, and will be co-organized with the European Research Network On Philanthropy (ERNOP), the European Foundation Centre (EFC), the European Policy Centre, the Donors Associations  and Foundation Networks in Europe (DAFNE),  the European Venture Philanthropy  Association (EVPA), the European Fundraising Association (EFA), the Network  of European Foundations (NEF), Transnational  Giving Europe (TGE) and Philanthropy Impact. It aims to bring together the European philanthropic sector and stakeholders (philanthropists, policy makers, advisors, notaries, asset managers, private bankers, family offices, and NGO and foundation representatives) , to discuss the evolution and the place of philanthropy in Europe and the new challenges philanthropy is facing for the coming years. The event is part of a series of events organized by the King Baudouin Foundation and related to the European Spring of Philanthropy.

There will be roundtables and inspiring keynote speeches from international guests of honour such as Philanthropist Ronald Bruder, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and member of the Peacejam Foundation Ms Shirin Ebadi, and Herman Van Rompuy, President Emeritus of the European Council.

The purpose of this Day is to put forward philanthropy  in our society and to show that Philanthropy works in Europe. It will offer the opportunity to present innovative ideas, new practices and aspires to inspire European philanthropist (individuals, families and corporations)  and other philanthropic actors on how to engage and on how to tackle social matters at local, national, European or international level.
