Writing a commentary for the ERNOP Dialogue Paper Series – Facilitated by the Journal of Philanthropy and Marketing

Respondents to the central pillar article (commentators) will (respectfully) offer their critical reflections, highlighting lines of agreement, outlining points of discord, and diagnosing potential means to reconcile any divergent views. Commentaries can be written by anyone that has an expertise related to a specific theme.

To submit your commentary, please sign in or register as an author. When submitting, choose the ‘opinion piece’ category. We kindly request that responses adhere to the approximate 2,000-word limit.

The desired format for responses is:

(a) Engagement with the Central Pillar Article: We encourage responses that closely engage with the central pillar article, offering insights and reflections rather than standalone opinion pieces.

(b) Positive Engagement: Respond in good faith, fostering constructive debate. We aim for a ‘Yes, and…’ approach, encouraging contributions that build upon the central pillar article rather than focusing on what may be perceived as lacking.

(c) Timely Submission: To ensure timely publication, we request that responses be submitted within the specified word limit and by the given deadline. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and accommodations can be made accordingly.

Your contribution holds the potential to deepen the discussion on key issues of philanthropy within the ERNOP community and beyond. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the writing process, please feel free to reach out at
