ERNOP Best Conference Paper Award presented to Bojana Radovanovic
During the 9th international conference of the European Research Network On Philanthropy, the Best Conference Award was awarded to Bojana Radovanovic from the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at University of Belgrade (Serbia) for their paper entitled ‘Conceptualising and Measuring Philanthropy. The Evidence from Serbia’. The award, which is made possible by the Transnational Giving Europe network, comprises out of an Award Certificate and € 1000,-.
Bojnana: “I intend to use the monetary award in two ways. Firstly, it will be used for the further promoting and publishing of my PhD research results (to cover costs of proofreading, conference travel and similar). Secondly, I will use the award for my future research on volunteering and activism in Serbia, which I am developing at the moment. I am immensely grateful for this support.”

According to the review committee (Prof. John Mohan, University of Birmingham, Bernard Enjolras, Instiute for Social Research, Laurie Paarlberg Indiana University and Theo Schuyt, VU Amsterdam), the paper was characterized by an excellent problemitization of the lack of understanding of philanthropy in Serbia and a very thorough analysis of the phenonemon. The committee especially valued the contribution to knowledge from a European perspective and looks forward to enjoy more of her work.
