ERNOP Announces 12th International Conference in Heidelberg: Call for Papers Open
The European Research Network on Philanthropy (ERNOP) is pleased to announce its 12th International Conference, to be held at the University of Heidelberg on September 25-26, 2025. Themed “Philanthropy by the People, for the People?”, the conference will explore the evolving roles, organizations, and motivations of philanthropy in shaping contemporary democratic processes and social cohesion.
The ERNOP 2025 conference will welcome scholars, practitioners, and experts from across disciplines to reflect on how philanthropy interacts with European democratic values and societal challenges. Key questions include how philanthropic initiatives can foster social unity or division, the motivations behind giving, and the evolving role of philanthropy in public service delivery and policy influence.
Call for Papers Now Open
The conference is now accepting paper submissions. ERNOP invites contributions from researchers and practitioners exploring a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
- Philanthropy and Democracy
- Donor Motivations
- Corporate Philanthropy & CSR
- New forms of philanthropy
- Social Innovation, Crowdfunding, and more.
The deadline for abstract submissions is May 10, 2025. Scholars are encouraged to submit abstracts that align with the conference theme or explore emerging areas in the field of philanthropy.
